The National Youth Service (NYS) has conducted its quarterly monitoring exercise, assessing the performance of its corps members deployed across Sierra Leone. The exercise, which took place in major district headquarters towns, including Bo, Kenema, Magburaka, and Kono, aimed to ensure that young people serving with the NYS are diligently fulfilling their duties.

This monitoring exercise is a key component of NYS’s quality assurance framework, designed to evaluate the performance and impact of its programs. Through regular monitoring, NYS can identify areas of strength and areas needing improvement, helping to inform decisions aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of its initiatives.

The exercise was led by a team of senior officials from the NYS headquarters, who visited various deployment sites, interacted with corps members, and assessed their work. The team also met with local stakeholders, including community leaders, government officials, and partner organizations, to gather feedback on the programs and services provided by NYS.

Executive Director of NYS, Onana Jalloh, emphasized the institution’s commitment to equipping young people with the skills, knowledge, and values necessary to contribute to national development. “This monitoring exercise is an essential part of our efforts to ensure that our programs are effective and meet the needs of all stakeholders,” Jalloh stated.

The NYS monitoring exercise underscores the institution’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and high-quality service delivery. By regularly assessing its programs and services, NYS can make data-driven decisions that will improve its operations and better serve the needs of young people and the communities they serve.

The National Youth Service commended its corps members for their hard work and dedication to serving their communities. It also expressed gratitude to its stakeholders, including government agencies, partner organizations, and local communities, for their ongoing support and collaboration.
