In a vibrant celebration of talent and culture, the students of Skill Bridge Academy united to mark International Peace Day with a powerful showcase at the Bintumani Conference Center.
Following a recent creative workshop hosted by Skill Bridge Academy, participants were encouraged to express themselves through their natural gifts and artistic passions. The students self-organized into five key talent groups: Poetry, Modeling, Film, Music, and Fashion Design, each preparing a unique performance to honor the global day of peace.
The workshop, designed to unlock personal creativity and foster teamwork, culminated in a showcase that blended innovation with advocacy. Performers used their talents not only to entertain but also to promote the messages of peace, inclusion, and youth empowerment.
“We believe that peace is more than the absence of conflict; it’s about creating space for everyone’s voice to be heard,” said one of the student participants from the Poetry group. “This platform gave us that voice.”
From spoken word performances that echoed the struggles and hopes of Sierra Leone’s youth to fashion pieces made from recycled materials symbolizing transformation and renewal, the event stood out as a powerful example of how young creatives can serve as ambassadors for peace.
The stage at Bintumani lit up with vibrant musical acts, thought-provoking short films, bold runway walks, and stirring monologues. Each performance brought a unique perspective, tied together by a common theme: “Act Now For A Peaceful Sierra Leone.”
Organizers and attendees praised the initiative for empowering young people to take an active role in shaping their communities through art and collaboration.
“This was more than a performance; it was a movement,” said the Academy’s program coordinator. “We are incredibly proud of how our students channeled their talents into a unified message of peace.”
As the world observed International Peace Day, Skill Bridge Academy’s contribution reminded us all that when youth are given a platform, they don’t just rise they lead.
