Freetown – Magistrate Adama Judith Kandeh of Pademba Road Court No. 4 on Wednesday, 10th September 2025, ordered the remand of Marwan Malador, Manager of Malador Company Limited, after he failed to appear in court for a fraud case involving $30,000.
Malador faces two charges: Conspiracy to Defraud contrary to law, and Fraudulent Conversion contrary to Section 20 (1)(iv)(a) of the Larceny Act of 1916.
According to the charge sheet, on 26th August 2024, in Freetown, Malador allegedly conspired with unknown individuals to defraud one Roseline Fatu Cowan of thirty thousand United States dollars (\$30,000) equivalent to seven hundred and twenty-nine thousand new Leones (NLe 729,000). The funds were reportedly entrusted to him for the purpose of facilitating travel to the United States of America.
The accused had previously been arrested in connection with another matter in Court No. 2, where he also failed to appear, prompting the issuance of a bench warrant.
Magistrate Kandeh granted an application made by Lawyer I.S.Y. Kamara Esq. on a prior adjournment date, leading to the issuance of a bench warrant for Malador’s arrest.
He is currently remanded at the Pademba Road Male Correctional Center pending further proceedings. The matter is scheduled to continue on Thursday, 11th September 2025.
