John Noah has been arrested and charged with Housebreaking and Larceny, contrary to Section 26(1) of the Larceny Act of 1916.
According to the particulars of the offence, on Wednesday, 16th July 2025, at No. 1 Wioughbly Lane, Brookfields, Freetown, the accused allegedly broke into and entered the dwelling house of one Ishmael.
Leading the prosecution, Inspector Mohamed Kamara presented Prosecution Witness 1, Minkailu Yayah Kamara, an officer attached to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). He testified that he received the report on Wednesday, 18th July 2025.
According to his testimony, he and Detective Constable 19939 F. Kamara, along with other colleagues, visited the crime scene, took statements from the complainant and witnesses, and documented the scene with photographs. Exhibits collected were handed over to the designated crime scene officer.
On 26th July 2025, both officers obtained a voluntary caution statement from the accused. The interview was conducted in Krio, while the statement was recorded in English. The accused confirmed the statement with his right-hand thumbprint.
Subsequently, on 1st August 2025, the accused was formally cautioned and charged with Housebreaking and Larceny. The statement was produced and tendered in court, forming part of the official court record.
Magistrate Kallon presided over the matter and has adjourned the case to 12th September 2025. Bail was continued for the accused.
