The office of Birth and deaths is one office that has the obligation of obtaining valid data of citizens and the integrity that has been created around the operation of that entity is high. This is not withstanding the huge influx of citizens that are seen teeming in and out of the office premises.
One caveat to get birth and deaths certificate is the requirement of affidavit that is supposed to be issued by Justice of Peace as Commissioners of Oath So when you go to obtain birth and certificate, you are first required to obtain and affidavit signed by a Justice of Peace.
One certified location that Births and Death had mostly referred people for the Affidavit had been the Central Mosque. But whatever has happed we have now seen some conflict emerging between the source of the affidavits and Births and Death.
Alhaji Alusine Sesay who is the Commissioner of Oath at the Central Mosue has raised qualm about another group nearby Births and Death that has questionable credential in the issuance of the affidavits that Births and Deaths is accepting without verifying the legitimacy of the stamp affixed thereon.
The allegation that we are trying to ascertain in subsequent edition is whether Births and Death has any vested interest in affiidavits sources. For one of the central mosque affidavit writer Pastor Jones claimed that a staff of Births and Death and a Police officer attached at the office accosted him when he went there to verify claims that their clients were diverted at the sidewalk when to young fellows have pitched the umbrella to be issuing dubious affidavits.
