The President of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), Mr. Babadi Kamara, is today, Saturday, August 30, 2025, attending a high-level meeting of African football leadership in Nairobi, Kenya. The strategic gathering, convened by CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe, brings together the Presidents of all 54 Member Associations, with FIFA President Gianni Infantino also in attendance on the sidelines of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) finals.
The meeting is set to address crucial topics central to the future of African football, including financial sustainability, infrastructure development, and strategies to enhance the continent’s global competitiveness.
President Kamara is also seizing the opportunity to interact with global football icons and leaders such as FIFA President Gianni Infantino, CAF President CAF General Dr. Patrice Motsepe Secretary Veron Mosengo mba, and Cameroon FA President Samuel Eto’o. Discussions are expected to touch on football development opportunities that will directly benefit Sierra Leone’s football ecosystem.
“This is a defining moment for African football, and I am honored to represent Sierra Leone in these crucial,” President Kamara noted. “Our priority is to strengthen partnerships and ensure that Sierra Leone leverages CAF and FIFA’s development programs to drive progress in infrastructure, youth football and long-term sustainability.”
His participation underscores Sierra Leone’s growing influence within continental football circles and reflects the SLFA’s determination to align the country’s football development agenda with CAF and FIFA’s broader vision for the game in Africa.
