Reports reaching this medium confirm that an unidentified man, believed to be a suspected armed robber, has died following an alleged mob justice incident along New Gerihun Road in Bo. The victim was found lying helplessly in the early hours of Friday, 29th August 2025, and later succumbed to his injuries.

According to eyewitness accounts, the deceased was suspected to be part of a group of armed robbers who have been terrorizing residents of Bo in recent weeks. Although the exact circumstances surrounding the attack remain unclear, community members believe he was apprehended by an angry mob, beaten severely, and left by the roadside.

As of Saturday, 30th August 2025, the body remained at the scene, raising concerns among bystanders and residents about the potential public health risks posed by a decomposing corpse in a public space.

Speaking on the incident, Bo City Council’s Chief Administrator, Henry Pawell, confirmed that the council had taken the necessary steps to remove and bury the remains in accordance with public health protocols.

The incident has once again ignited concerns about the growing trend of mob justice in Bo an unlawful practice widely condemned by law enforcement authorities and human rights organizations. Observers argue that while public frustration over increasing crime rates is understandable, resorting to vigilante justice undermines the rule of law and increases the risk of harming innocent individuals.

Residents are now calling on the Sierra Leone Police (SLP) and Bo City Council to take decisive action to tackle crime, improve public safety, and restore confidence in the justice system in Sierra Leone’s second-largest city.
