A notorious Cocaine dealer has been refused bail by magistrate Sahr Keikura for allegedly dealing in Cocaine and other unlawful substances.
The Thirty Five (35) yrs old Junior Fofanah made another appearance before magistrate Sahr Keikura of pademba road court No.1 in Freetown he is answering to five counts Charges ranging to dealing in a prohibited drugs without lawful authority contrary to section 7(1) of the Larceny Act of 2008 and unlawful possession of India-hemp (“Kush”) contrary to section 48 (1) of the pharmacy and Drugs Act No.11 of 2001.
According to the charge sheet it was alleged that on 16th may 2021 at 35 Lumley Street the western Area in Freetown being sold a prohibited drug to wit forty (40) ties of cocaine weighing 6.9 grammes without lawful authority.
PW1 DPC Sergeant 7810 Mohamed Ringo Bangura attached at the transnational organise Crime Unit (TOCU) Robamba Junction Hastings he recalled on the 16th May 2021, he was on duty at the said station when the accused was arrested and brought to him together with the Exhibits “Cocaine” and the matter was allocated to him for investigation of the white substance to wit cocaine.
The witness said himself and inspector Loyed Brima cautioned and questioned the accused person in krio and it was recorded in English and the cautioned statement was read over to the accused person, and he admitted it to be true by afflicting his right hand thumb print witness by inspector Loyed Brima and he signed as the recorder and the statement was tendered in court and it was marked as exhibits A1-13.
The witness said on the 20TH May 2021 samples of the exhibits was taken to the forensic analyst for examination and on the 22nd May 2021 himself and inspector Loyed Brima caution and charge the accused person with the offence of dealing with prohibited drugs to with cocaine, dealing with prohibited drugs to with heroine and unlawful possession of India-hemp to with “Kush”.
The Counsel representing the accused person Ibrahim Macfoy renewed his application for bail for on behalf of the accused person.
He told the bench that he will cross examined the witness on the next adjourning date.
Magistrate Keikura refused bail and he adjourned the matter to the 9th June 2021
