Ahead of the World Aquatics Junior Championship… Sierra Leone Dolphin Peter J. Bewie Arrives in Otopeni, Romania

Sierra Leone’s rising swimming star, Peter J. Bewie affectionately known as PJ Baby Dolphin has safely arrived in Otopeni, Romania, from the USA to represent the nation at the World Aquatics Junior Swimming Championships ahead of the Head Coach, Gibrilla Kanu Bamba and teammate, John Alimamy Samura who are expected to join him soon.

PJ, one of the country’s most promising young talents in the pool, is set to compete in the 50m Breaststroke and Freestyle events on Thursday and Saturday. He will go head-to-head with some of the world’s best junior swimmers in this prestigious global competition.

His participation marks a significant moment for Sierra Leone, as he continues to elevate the country’s presence in international aquatics both within Africa and on the global stage.

Speaking on arrival, Bewie shared his enthusiasm and determination:

“It’s an honor to represent Sierra Leone on such a big stage. I am ready to give my best and make my country proud.”

The championships are expected to draw hundreds of elite junior swimmers from around the world, providing PJ with a platform to showcase his talent and inspire a new generation of swimmers back home.

The Sierra Leone Swimming, Diving and Water Polo Association has extended its best wishes to Bewie and calls on all Sierra Leoneans to rally behind him as he proudly waves the green, white, and blue on the world stage.
