East End Lions Crowned Champions of Leone Rock Premier League 2025

The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) President, Babadi Kamara, today officially handed over medals and the championship trophy to East End Lions, winners of the 2025 Leone Rock Premier League.

The ceremony, staged at the Approved School Field, East of Freetown followed a thrilling 1-1 draw between the champions and Stars Sports Academy. The “Killers” had already sealed the title with 69 points before the match.

In his statement, President Kamara congratulated East End Lions on their league triumph and extended appreciation to all participating teams for their efforts and sportsmanship throughout the tournament. He also commended the sponsors  particularly lead sponsor   for their unwavering commitment to the development of football in Sierra Leone.

President Kamara further applauded the Government of Sierra Leone for its steadfast support in funding not only the Premier League but also the national teams, especially the Leone Stars.

He also expressed delight over SLFA’s partnership with FIFA +, which successfully broadcast all Premier League matches live this season, giving Sierra Leonean football global traction. He assured the public that FIFA+ is here to stay and will only get better by next season and the seasons after.

In a groundbreaking move, he also awarded the champions a cash prize of ,, signaling a new era of accountability and timely rewards in football.

“Our executive is here to run football with transparency and credibility,” Kamara affirmed, drawing loud cheers from jubilant fans chanting: “The savior of football has come!”

Dignitaries present included NSA Executive Director Dr. Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai, Ministry of Sports Director Haroun Korji, Premier League Board Chairman Justice Mark Ngegba, Vice President 1 of the Sierra Leone Football Association Ali Badara Tarawallie and members of the SLFA Executive.

East End Lions will represent Sierra Leone in the CAF Champions League, while runners-up Bhantal FC head to the CAF Confederation Cup in September.
