The Southern Region Police Tailor Shop, a vital facility for the production of police uniforms, has undergone a significant transformation under the strategic leadership of the Inspector General of Police (IGP).

Previously hindered by operational challenges, the tailor shop has now been upgraded to enhance its productivity and efficiency. With the improvements, personnel in the Southern Region can access high-quality, professionally tailored uniforms contributing not only to a sharper appearance but also to greater pride and morale within the force.

According to Assistant Inspector General (AIG) Brima Kanneh, Regional Police Commander South, the improved facility will also ease the burden on the Gamet Factory in Freetown, the main supplier of police uniforms.

“This development will reduce operational pressure and accelerate the supply of uniforms to our personnel in the South,” AIG Kanneh stated.

“This is more than just uniforms; it’s about pride, identity, and readiness,” he continued. “We are grateful to the IGP for his foresight in ensuring that even in the South, our officers have access to quality uniforms befitting the dignity of our service.”

The successful revitalization of the tailor shop is yet another example of the IGP’s commitment to modernization, decentralization, and capacity building across all regions of the Sierra Leone Police (SLP).
