The Political Parties Regulation Commission (PPRC) has officially published the Internal Elections Rules and Regulations for the All People’s Congress (APC) in Sierra Leone Gazette No. 67, Vol. CLXVI.
The announcement marks the beginning of a 30-day period during which the public and APC members can submit objections to these regulations. This period will run until Thursday, September 11, 2025, giving ample time for stakeholders to express their views.
In line with Section 25 of the Political Parties Act 2022, the PPRC is inviting feedback from stakeholders, emphasizing the importance of transparency and accountability in the electoral process. The objection period provides an opportunity for individuals and organizations to raise concerns or suggestions regarding the proposed rules.
Objections can be submitted through various channels: interested parties may visit the PPRC Head Office on OAU Drive, Tower Hill, Freetown, or regional offices in Bo, Kenema, Makeni, and Port Loko.
For those wishing to review the gazetted Internal Elections Rules and Regulations, copies are available for purchase at the Sierra Leone Government Bookshop on Wallace Johnson Street in Freetown. The documents can also be accessed online through the PPRC’s official website.
This initiative reflects the PPRC’s commitment to ensuring a transparent and democratic political environment in Sierra Leone. The Commission encourages active participation from both the APC and the public to strengthen the integrity and legitimacy of the upcoming internal elections.
As the deadline approaches, the PPRC aims to foster constructive dialogue to improve political party governance and enhance the democratic process in the country.
