Star Sport Academy has secured a significant boost off the pitch as GIS Company Limited steps forward with strong financial backing to help fuel the Academy’s ambitions.

In a landmark gesture, GIS Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Gibrill I. Camara, pledged One Hundred Thousand New Leones (NLe 100,000) to the Academy. He commended the Academy for its dedication to discovering and nurturing young football talent and praised Chairman Ing. Yankuba Jusu Tarawally for his vision, leadership, and tireless efforts in providing aspiring players with the platform to realize their dreams.

“This Academy is doing more than just producing footballers; it is building disciplined, confident, and goal-oriented young men who will represent Sierra Leone on the biggest stages,” Mr. Camara said. “At GIS, we believe in investing in dreams and creating opportunities for the next generation. That’s why we are proud to stand behind Star Sport Academy.”

As part of their support, GIS also purchased 10 supporters’ jerseys from the Academy, further demonstrating their commitment to the team both financially and symbolically. The jerseys were officially presented to Mr. Camara and the GIS team by Chairman Yankuba Jusu Tarawally, also known as Lux Cee Note, during a brief ceremony. He emphasized that the gesture symbolized a partnership based on their shared passion for football and community development.

“This is more than just financial backing; it is a partnership in our mission,” Tarawally remarked. “With the support of GIS Company Limited, we can continue to train, equip, and motivate our players to not only excel locally but also make their mark on the international stage.”

The pledge and jersey purchase represent a new milestone in the Academy’s journey, highlighting the importance of collaboration between corporate sponsors and grassroots football institutions in Sierra Leone.
