The resident Judge of Sefadu High Court, Justice Albert Moody has said that the Sierra Leone Police Force Kono Branch is one of the best in the country. Justice Moody made the statement when giving out judgement on the matter that has to do with two former police officers arraigned in court for alleged sexual penetration of underage girls at different time and places in Kono District.

He thanked the police officers for being supportive and professional in investigating and charging to court their colleagues for a professional misconduct and criminal act.

Justice Albert Moody maintained that it is very common all over the world for police officer to compromise matters against their institution or colleagues unlike the police officers in Kono who stood firm.

He praised the police for doing the needful even though their colleagues took at least one year five months at the Sefadu correctional centre before they were convicted for sexual penetration contrary to Section 19 of sexual offences Act 2012 Act number 12 of 2012 as repealed and replaced by section 4 Sub-Section A and 3 of sexual offence amendment Act 2012 Act number 8 of 2019.

While imploring police officers in the district to maintain the current professional trend of force in Kono District, Justice Albert Moody urged police officers in other parts of the country to emulate the laudable example of police officers in Kono district.

Meanwhile the two former police officers that were sentenced to five years each imprisonment for sexual penetration include: Christopher Ansumana Momoh Kpallu and Michael Tamba Sandi both were attached to the Sewafe police post in Nimiyama Chiefdom – Kono District
