Emmanuel Tommy, a 20-year-old motorbike rider, made his first appearance before Magistrate Augustine Brima Samura of Pademba Road Court No. 8 in Freetown on a charge of manslaughter (motor), contrary to law.
According to the particulars of the offence, the incident occurred on Friday, 30th May 2025, at approximately 9:30 p.m., along Hennessy Street, New England Ville, in the Western Area of Freetown. The accused, while riding a TVS Star HLX motorbike with registration number AUV 346, allegedly caused the unlawful death of Mohamed Bah.
When the charge was read and explained in court, no plea was taken from the accused.
Prosecuting officer, Inspector Aminata Korio, requested a short adjournment to prepare and present her next witness in the matter.
Magistrate Samura refused bail and ordered that the accused be remanded at the Male Correctional Facility in Freetown. The matter was adjourned to 31st July 2025.
