Two young men, Abdul Aziz Kargbo and Hassan Mansaray, have been remanded at the Male Correctional Facility in Freetown following their first appearance before Magistrate John Manso Fornah at Pademba Road Court No. 2. The pair face two criminal charges: 1. Conspiracy to Commit a Crime, contrary to law

  1. Larceny, contrary to Section 2 of the Larceny Act of 1916

According to the prosecution, on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at the Aberdeen Police Station in the Western Area of Freetown, the accused conspired with other unidentified individuals to commit the crime.

Count two alleges that on the same date and location, Kargbo and Mansaray stole six different vehicle number plates, including APQ 821, APW 807, and ANP 187, with a total estimated value of Le30,380. The number plates were said to be the property of the Local Unit Commander of the Aberdeen Division.

When the charges were read and explained, both accused pleaded not guilty.

Prosecuting officer Detective Police Constable K.K. Thoronka requested a short adjournment, stating that his witness was absent from court.

Magistrate Fornah denied bail and remanded both accused to custody at the Male Correctional Facility. The matter has been adjourned to July 24, 2025, for further hearing.
