Police Nab Notorious Armed Robber in Bo

The 21st Century style of Policing under the leadership of the newly transferred Regional Police Commander to the Southern Region, Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Samadia has been the centre man to lead the arrest of one notorious armed robber,  Abass Conteh aka ‘Seven Days’ who was raided at the Holy Secondary School Compound in Bo.  Unfortunately, he escaped.

The Head of Police Media, Inspector Mohamed Bobson Senu told this medium that since the new regional police commander was transferred to the Southern Region; he has introduced the 21st Century Policing style with robust engagement of the public to help the police provide adequate security to ensure stability in the south.

Inspector Senu said that they experienced an upsurge in the crime after the Presidential pardon granted to criminals who were imprison that were found guilty on various crimes by a competent court; however, the new AIG is determine to put crime activities under control.

He reechoed the incident at the HRS Compound where armed robbers attacked Reverend Fathers and carted away their money but the shift response of the police prevented them from running away with their money, to the tune of over ten million Leones as one of the armed robbers who was in possession of the bag was shot by the Police in his shoulder and dropped the bag that had the money.

Inspector Senu said some of the armed robbers who raided the Rev. Fathers sustained major injuries and the Police informed the Public to help identify people in their community with major multiple injuries and the community adhered to the call and led to the arrest of Abass Conteh.

He said that Conteh vehemently denied the allegation that he was among the armed robbers that raided the HRS compound. The police believed that with his criminal records and recent injuries it is confirmed that there could be possible link to the recent incident. The suspect is making a claim that he sustained the injuries at Bawomahun Village in Valunia Chiefdom, Bo District; this has led the police to investigate.

“From the criminal records of Abass Conteh shows that he is an ex-convict who was in police net for various offences ranging from larceny to robbery with aggravation. This is a notorious hard core criminal,” Insp. Senu claims. |

Inspector Senu said they will conduct an exhibition parade for the suspect to be identified by police officers who were on duty on the night of the incident, while some Rev. Fathers will also be in attendance to clarify whether the suspect was among the others robbers.  

Inspector Senu also revealed that they have mounted a robust day and night patrols under the leadership of AIG Samadia, especially during the raining season which can be an easily manipulated by criminals to invade people’s resident at night, he also encouraged the public to continue providing the police with relevant information to ensure a crime free environment.
