Twenty-three-year-old David Sesay, a labourer, appeared before Magistrate Augustine Brima Samura of Pademba Road Court No. 8 in Freetown on a charge of loitering with intent, contrary to Section 8 of the Public Order Act No. 46 of 1965.
According to the particulars of the offense, on Sunday, June 15th, 2025, at Kabba Road, Regent Village, Mountain Rural District, in the Western Area of Freetown, the accused was found loitering with intent to commit a felony.
When the charge was read and explained to him, the accused pleaded guilty.
The prosecutor, Detective Police Constable 14898 Joseph Lamin Dumbuya, tendered both the voluntary caution statement and the charge statement of the accused in court.
The accused, who was not legally represented, pleaded with the magistrate to show mercy and temper justice with mercy.
Following his plea and mitigation, Magistrate Samura sentenced David Sesay to one month imprisonment at the Male Correctional Facility in Freetown.
