Sierra Leonean FIFA badge referee Aminata Fullah, one of Sierra Leone’s finest central referees, has been officially selected by CAF to officiate at the prestigious TotalEnergies Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), scheduled to take place in Morocco from 5th to 26th July 2025. She becomes the first-ever referee from Sierra Leone to officiate at an AFCON tournament.
This selection is a monumental achievement not only for Aminata personally, but also for Sierra Leonean football as a whole. It reflects years of dedication, discipline, and consistent performance at the highest level.
Even more remarkably, Aminata Fullah has now become the first-ever Elite A Referee in the history of Sierra Leone — a groundbreaking milestone that will undoubtedly inspire current and future generations of referees across the country.
This achievement is a testament to the growing reputation of Sierra Leonean match officials on the continental and global stage. Aminata’s success shows that with hard work and the right support, our officials can compete and excel at the highest levels of international football.
Let us all come together to celebrate and support her as she represents our nation with pride at WAFCON 2025.
The Referees Manager at the Sierra Leone Football Association Angel Foray Marrah said they feel excited seeing Aminata Fullah to reach such height and they are working hard to get more Referees back home to reach the stage where Aminata Fullah is now. Noting that there is more exciting news on the way for Refereeing in Sierra Leone.
