At least twenty pupils drawn from different primary and junior secondary schools in Fiama Chiefdom – Kono District were over the weekend selected to be benefitting from learning materials and other facilities from the Children Health Education and Lives Matter Organization in Kono District.
This was disclosed to this medium during the official launch of the aforementioned organization at the Sata Kumba Amara Resource Centre in Koidu City, Kono District.
When giving the historical background of the organization, the founder and executive director of the Children Health Education and Lives Matter Organization, Madam Meitta Yei Songu Briwa, foremost thanked God almighty for His blessing and also thanked the people present. She noted that, the organization was borne out of the growing passion from her childhood days to date for children and young people across Sierra Leone who are suffering greatly from injustice, poor health facilities and inadequate access to education and basic amenities that affect the development of the nation.
Madam Mbriwa called on all and sundry to join hands with her in order to promote and protect the wellbeing of children and young people in Njagbema Fiama, Kono District and the country as a whole, adding that, the organization is Non Governmental that was established by herself as she put it “Every child matters and they are our future” she noted.
Meanwhile, some of the schools that the pupils were drawn from included, United Methodist Church (UMC) Primary School, God is Our Light Primary School, and the Songu Mbriwa Junior Secondary School respectively.
Some of the stakeholders who were present at the occasion were P.C Cyrus Ngebuva Kono-Bundor of Kangama Gorama Chiefdom – Kono District, Rev. Augustine Tamba Nyamba of the Voice of the Bible International Freetown among many others.
At the end of the launch, all invited dignitaries thanked Madam Mbriwa for such a wonderful initiative and promised to support her at all times.
