Sierra Leone’s U20 male team, the Shooting Stars has been placed in Group C alongside Senegal, Ivory Coast, and Benin for the 2025 WAFU A&B U20 Boys Sub-Confederation Tournament. The draw, held this morning in Abidjan, Ivory Coast marks a historic moment as all thirteen member associations under WAFU A and B will compete together for the first time.
Ghana is set to host the tournament, scheduled to take place from June 15 to June 30. The competition serves as a qualifier for the next TotalEnergies African Cup of Nations U20.
Shooting Stars last competed in the WAFU A qualifiers in Monrovia, Liberia, where they secured their first-ever AFCON U20 qualification. The Shooting Stars now aim to replicate their success on this expanded stage.
The Tournament is set to be an eye opener for other players who did make the squad to the last U-20 Africa Cup Nations in Egypt.
