In recognition of its commitment to promoting healthcare and public well-being, the Ministry of Health has honoured A-Z Newspaper for its outstanding contribution to accurate and balanced health reporting. The recognition took place during the National Health Summit Award Night on Saturday, May 17, 2025.
The award serves as a testament to A-Z Newspaper’s dedication to health journalism over the years and its ongoing efforts to deliver well-researched and reliable health information to the public.
During the award ceremony, Minister of Health Dr. Austin Demby praised the role of the media as vital partners in strengthening healthcare delivery across Sierra Leone.
“The media can make or unmake institutions through their reporting. That’s why it is important to recognize the value of their work,” Dr. Demby said.
He further acknowledged A-Z Newspaper’s instrumental role in disseminating accurate health information and supporting the Ministry’s public health messaging.
As one of Sierra Leone’s leading newspapers, A-Z continues to provide well-balanced, factual reporting on national issues, including health, governance, and human-interest stories, contributing significantly to public awareness and education.
