Commissioner at National Commission for Social Action (NaCSA), Dr. Sao Kpato Hannah Isatta Max-Kyne has testified before Magistrate Sahr Keikura of Court No 1 in Freetown on the 24th May, 2021 at the Pademba Court in an alleged case of conspiracy, house breaking and accession after the fact to house breaking, larceny and malicious damage all contrary to the Laws of Sierra Leone.

The four accused persons, Musa Kargbo, Daniel Sesay, Foday Sesay and Bella Darboh were before the court for conspiracy, house breaking and accession after the fact to house breaking, larceny and malicious damage all contrary to the Laws of Sierra Leone.

Testifying in court, the witness said she only knew the first accused person as a security officer at her resident. Witness said she recalled on the 10th February, 2021 she was about to go for a regional tour with her Deputy Commissioner in the provinces for three days; she locked the upstairs door and went into her vehicle, but later realized that she had not put off the appliances in her study room and called on the first accused Musa Kargbo to switch them off; he was nowhere to be seen.  

The witness told the court that upon her arrival from the regional tour she noticed that all the doors in her house were opened immediately she rushed into her bed room and that fifteen million Leones was missing (Le15, 000,000/00) from the place she kept the money, she also searched for her safe and find out that the box was missing.

The witness said she shouted “Musa has killed me” and her close-protection officer came in and took her down stairs. She later discovered that her nine thousand eight hundred thousand United States Dollars ($USD9, 800,000); the jewelries in her safe, one phone Note book 10 were all missing.

The witness said she called at the Congo Cross Police Station and they interview her and later the matter was transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

According to the witness she went downstairs to fetched water to drink from the guest room and saw the safe under the pillow in the guest room, but nothing was there and met it damaged. She alerted the Police personnel’s and later made an additional statement at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) headquarters.

The State Counsel, J. M. S Bull represented the state while there was no lawyer representing the accused persons. The matter has been adjourned to the 31th May, 2021.
