Concerns have been raised over recent actions by the Senior District Officer (SDO) of Bumpe Ngao, as a Paramount Chieftaincy election petition is pending in the High Court. Allegations suggest that there is an attempt to manipulate the people of Bumpe Ngao, casting doubt on the sincerity of certain parties involved.

Critics have pointed out that if the actions of those pushing for a resolution were genuine, the former police officer and his son, who are said to be organizing meetings, would be more forthcoming with their participation. Despite multiple scheduled gatherings, the officer has failed to attend.

The situation draws comparisons to the 2018 presidential election petition, which was handled through proper legal channels, with a ruling issued by the court. Similarly, the dismissal of the Accountant General was also carried out in accordance with due process. It has been emphasized that no president has ever issued an executive order to bypass such procedures.

In this context, concerns are mounting over the SDO’s recent declarations, as some believe they are undermining the authority of the judiciary. The public is questioning why there has been an attempt to present the SDO’s actions as having more weight than the pending decision of the High Court.

Furthermore, there has been criticism over the lack of transparency regarding meetings supposedly held at the Bumpe Court Barray. Despite claims of such gatherings, no videos or credible social media evidence have emerged to confirm their occurrence.

The situation has sparked wider debates about lawlessness and the proper respect for the rule of law, with many calling for clarity and adherence to judicial processes.
