In a press release dated 14th January 2025, the Ministry of Public Administration and Political Affairs (MoPAPA) calls on civil servants to familiarise with the revised Civil Service Code and Rules 2024 – which has gone through Cabinet approval.

The Ministry in this media release ardently urged civil servants to go through this revised document – paying utmost concerto the stipulated provisions that assures accountability, transparency and a better condition of service in the public sector sphere.

This revised document coincides with the vision of H.E President Dr. Julius Maada Bio to revamp the public service architecture – which is a key ingredient of the 2024-2030 Medium-Term National Development Plan (MTNDP) as articulated in Pillar 5 of the Big 5.

The revised Civil Service Code and Rules 2024 was approved by Cabinet on the 18th December 2024 and initially, one could recall that this document was entitled “The Civil Service Code, Rules and Regulations of 2011,” and it was in the pipeline for a period of 13 years.

Through the press release, MoPAPA enlightened that an implementation strategy and guidelines would be developed to ensure effective sensitisation of the revised Code and Rules – for effective application.
