In a gesture of goodwill and collaboration, a delegation from the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat paid a courtesy visit to the Resident Minister South, Chief John Abu, at his Tikonko Road office on Monday, 13th January 2025. The visit served to congratulate the minister on his recent appointment and to discuss preparations for the Jamaat’s highly anticipated annual conference, Jalsa Salana, scheduled for February.

Leading the delegation, Alhaji Aruna Ibrahim Jah, Regional President South of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat, extended heartfelt congratulations to Chief Abu, highlighting the Jamaat’s confidence in his leadership. He emphasized their commitment to fostering regional development and assured the minister of their support in building a stronger, united community.

Alhaji Jah also briefed the minister on the upcoming Jalsa Salana, describing it as a pivotal national gathering that promotes unity, spiritual growth, and social harmony. The conference, he noted, attracts participants from across Sierra Leone and neighboring countries, further strengthening its reputation as a platform for peace and collaboration.

Mr. Ishmael Nallo, the Jalsa Salana Officer, elaborated on the important of the event, stating that it has become a hallmark of national and international importance. He commended the Provincial Secretary’s office for its consistent support over the years, which has been instrumental in ensuring the event’s success.

“We are honored that His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio has previously attended our conference, and we are optimistic about his presence this year. The participation of the Vice President and other cabinet members underscores the importance of this event,” Mr. Nallo remarked.

In his response, Chief John Abu expressed gratitude for the delegation’s visit and commended the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat for their  commitment to peace and community development. He acknowledged the role of the Jalsa Salana, describing it as a beacon of unity and an exemplary initiative that enriches the Southern Region.
