Thirty-three-years-old Salamatu Sesay a nurse made another appearance before Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Pademba road court No.2 in Freetown on a count of Assault Occasioning actual bodily harm contrary to section 47 of the offences against the persons Act 1861.
According to the particulars of offence on Friday 12th July 2024 at #39b Brima Lane Jet off Bai Bureh Road the western area in Freetown assaulted Davida Jacklyn Gabbidon in a manner thereby occasioning her actual bodily harm.
When the charge was read and explained to the accused person she pleaded not guilty.
DPC 18235 Thoronka K.K lead in prosecution witness number one Davida Jacklin Gabbidon resided at 22 Peacock farm Wellington the western area in Freetown. She knew the accused person who is the sister of his landlord.
She recalled that on 12th July 2024 something transpired between herself and the accused person on the above date about 6:30pm when she came home with her child after having been discharged from the hospital. She said she was inside her apartment when she heard her door being knocked, she came out and saw a woman who introduced herself as Rahmatu said a pastor sent her to see the apartment do that when she moved out she will rent it the woman inspected the room and said she is not going to take the apartment and she saw another apartment which she asked her to go and show her upon that she called one Ibrahim who came to her house.
The accused person attacked her, gripped her into a fight. The witness said she reported her to her mother by the time she could begin to talk to her mother she felt someone removing her hair. She saw the accused her step mother drew her.
The witness said she felt severe headache especially the area which the hair was removed. She said she went o the police at Kissy division and reported the matter the police, where they issued medical request form and he went to the hospital and returned with the medical report to the police, and the police took snapshot of her head and showed her the pictures.
Counsel representing the accused person A. Coker renewed and adopted his previous Bail applications on behalf of the accused person.
Meanwhile Magistrate Bangura granted bail to the accused person in the sum of ten thousand Leones with one surety in like sum surety to be responsible to produce valid identity card depicting his or her address in Freetown bail to be approved by the court matter adjourned to the 10th December 2024.
