Fifty-three-years-old Abdul Gbassay Kamara a fisherman and Forty-four years old Mohamed Bangura a driver and Fifty-five years old Ramatu Saidu Kamara on Thursday, 5th December, 2024, made another appearance before magistrate Santigie Bangura of Pademba Road Court No. 2 on five count charges of threatening to burn a house Contrary to section 50 of the Malicious Damage Act 1861, and three count ranging from Malicious Damage -Contrary to section 51 of Malicious Damage Act 1861, Larceny- Contrary to section 20 of the Larceny Act 1916, Throwing missiles Contrary to section 50 of the Public Order Act No 46 of 1965.
According to the particulars of offence on Friday 12th January, 2024 at no 5 Queen Elizabeth Road Kissy Dockyard the western area in Freetown threatened to burn the house of Bangalie Kamara.
Count two revealed that on the same date and place above maliciously damaged one metal door valued Two Thousand, Five Hundred New Leones (Nle 2,500,00). property of Bangalie Kamara.
Count three further stated on the same date and place above did steal a fiscal cash of Ten Thousand New Leones (Nle 10,000,00) property of Bangalie Kamara.
Count four furthered that on the same date and place above were found throwing missiles at the residence of Yayah Conteh.
Count five indicated that on the same date and place above maliciously damaged forty (40) corrugated iron sheet valued One Thousand, Five Hundred Leones ( Nle 1,5000,00), Eight (8) window panes valued Four Hundred and Eighty Leones( NLe 480,00) and One Hundred and fifty (150) bags of charcoal valued Thirteen Thousand, Five Hundred Leones ( NLe 13,500,00) all to the total value of Fifteen Thousand, Four Hundred and Eighty Leones (NLe 15,480,00) property of Yayah Conteh.
When the charges were read and explained to the accused persons they pleaded not guilty.
When the matter was mentioned in court, the accused persons was absent
The state prosecutor Sergeant 8811 Florence M Wilson applied for bench warrant to the accused persons and sureties.
The accused persons were not legally represented. Meanwhile, magistrate Bangura granted the application and issued bench warrant for the accused persons and surety
However, the case has been adjourned to the 7th of January, 2025, for further proceedings.
