Ibrahim Sannoh, a car washer made another appearance before Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Pademba road court No.2 in Freetown on a count of Possession of a prohibited drug without lawful authority contrary to section 8 (a) of the Narcotic drug control Act 2008, Act No.10 of 2008.
According to the particulars of offence on Wednesday 14th August 2024 at Bus Halt Brookfields, the western area in Freetown, the accused was found in possession of twenty-four wraps of Kush without lawful authority.
No plea was when the charge was read and explained to the accused.
The prosecutor Deputy Superintendent of police Sorie Conteh led his witnesses and the file was withdrawn for judgment.
When giving his judgment, Magistrate Bangura said he had regarded to the totality of the evidence adduced, and that he was satisfied that the prosecution raised a “prema face” case for the accused person to be answered on trial. He therefore committed the matter to the High Court.
Counsel representing the accused person S.A.S Kanyaku renewed and adopted his previous Bail applications on behalf of the accused person.
The bail application was refused and the accused person was committed to the High Court without bail.
