Minister of Tourism Nabeela Tunis, alongside a team from Sierra Leone’s Ministry of Tourism and the National Tourist Board, has arrived at the World Travel Market (WTM) held at London’s Excel Centre.
This prestigious event, running from November 4-6, is recognized as one of the world’s leading platforms for tourism professionals to gather, share insights, and promote global travel.
The WTM attracts industry leaders, policymakers, and innovators from around the globe, providing an essential opportunity for countries to showcase their tourism potential.
Minister Tunis, accompanied by Permanent Secretary Kwame Yankson, aims to highlight Sierra Leone’s unique offerings and foster international partnerships that could enhance the country’s tourism sector.
“Participating in WTM is crucial for us as we seek to position Sierra Leone as a key destination for travelers,” said Minister Tunis. “This event allows us to engage with industry stakeholders, discuss emerging trends, and present our rich cultural heritage and natural beauty to a global audience.”
Sierra Leone has been working diligently to revitalize its tourism industry following years of challenges.
The government recognizes that tourism can be a significant driver of economic growth and job creation. By attending WTM, the delegation hopes to attract investment, promote sustainable tourism practices, and increase awareness of Sierra Leone as a travel destination.
During the event, Minister Tunis and her team will participate in panel discussions, networking sessions, and promotional activities aimed at showcasing Sierra Leone’s diverse attractions, from its stunning beaches to cultural sites and wildlife.
