15yrs-old girl trafficked to Guinea

 The Family Support Unit at the Bo East Police Division is currently investigating an alleged trafficking of a 15 year old girl who was taken to Guinea by her parents to pursue education.   

According to Police report, the suspect (name withheld) travelled to Conakry and collected the girl and headed back to Sierra Leone where they were both arrested at Masiaka by the Sierra Leone Police upon intelligence from both Sierra Leone and Guinea.

 The suspect is currently in police net while the victim is at a temporal shelter helping the police with in-depth investigation.

A Civil Society led organization in Bo, Center for Advocacy and Sustainable Empowerment (CASE) Sierra Leone is keenly following up on the matter said that the mother of the victim reported that, some FSU personnel attached to the Bo East police FSU department requested her to sign a document in order to grant her bail but the suspect refused to do and took to her heels and was later surface at CASE-SL office along the Bo-Kenema Highway.

The Executive Director of CASE Sierra Leone, Madam Rassie Bah stressed on the need to collaborate with other partners for further engagement with the police.

She called on the public to support the police with resources to go to Guinea and continue with the investigation
