Nineteen years old Edward Mansaray appeared before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba Road Court No1 in Freetown on a count charge of Larceny contrary to section 2 of the larceny Act 1916.
According to particulars of offence on the 8th July 2024 at Rawdon Street the western area in Freetown .steal one Dell laptop computer valued seven thousand five hundred Leones property of Umu Kallay
When the charge was read and explained to the accused person, no plea was taken.
Inspector Sellu TAP Led in prosecution witness number one Umu Kallay who is a graphic designer.
The witness said she knows the accused as a cleaner, and recall on Monday,8th July, 2024.she left the accused cleaning her office after she finished working, she left her laptop in the office and went out, when she return the laptop and the accused were gone.
She said on the July 9th 2024, she called the accused to ask him if he took her laptop, he said no, so she took him at New England Ville,police station where statement was obtained from them.
She said on that same day she received a call from the police station, when she gets there the accused admitted that he took the laptop and sold it at PZ, but the accused refuse telling to whom he sell it to she concluded
The accused was not legally represented by legal counsel.
Meanwhile Magistrate Kekura refused bail and sent the accused person to the Male Correctional facility and adjourned the matter to the 15th August 2024.
