21yrs old Sorie King Kanu and 24yrs old Ishaka Conteh has made their first appearance before Magistrate Sahr Keikura of Pademba road court in Freetown on four count charges to wit Wounding with intent contrary to section 18 of the offence against the Person Act 1861, Wounding contrary to section 20 of the offence against the Person Act 1861, Assault occasioning actual bodily harm contrary to section 47 of the offence against the Person Act 1861, Assault on Police contrary to section 39 of the police Act No. 7 of 1964.
According to the charge sheet raging to wounding it was alleged that on the 17th April 2021 at “wan ose” leather boot drive, Goderich in Freetown maliciously wounded Patrick Kamara with intent to do him grievous bodily harm on the same charge raging from assault. It was also alleged that the accused person on the said date assaulted police constable No. 2098 Patrick Kamara whilst in execution of his Lawful duty.
The charges were read to both accused persons but no plead was taken. Magistrate Keikura granted the second accused person bail in the sum of twenty million Leones one surety in like sum the sureties must be resident in the Western Area he/she must produce any form of identification to be approve by the DAR.
