He went on to point out the unifying spirit of football, which his government is tapping into to not only foster national unity but also to create opportunities for young people. He added:

“For our nation, football is a passion, and we stand with one heart, one soul, and in full voice as we cheer you on into World Cup 2026.

“As you keep soaring, know that my government’s commitment to promoting football and the sporting disciplines is steadfast and unrelenting. Our unprecedented investment in football and sports in general are yielding us results and real pride as a nation.”

Newly appointed Executive Director of the National Sports Authority (NSA) Dr. Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai Esq has continued to emphasize the value for money in sports.

“The Government is spending huge amounts of money in sports. What Sierra Leoneans want to see is result, which will make us proud and unify us as a nation.

“Leone Stars returned home with 4 points for the first time in recent history. This is value for money, and we will build on this achievement moving forward,” Dr. Abdulai said.
