Third Police Witness (PW3) Detectable Police Constable Paul Blango attached to the Criminal Investigation Department Lumley Police Station, Freetown has testified before Magistrate Sahr Keikura of Court No.1 on the 6th May, 2021 at the Pademba Road in Freetown.
The five accused persons Yusuf Sesay, Amara Junior Blango, Mohamed Sesay, Chief Morison Gbonaya and Mohamed Alimany Sesay were all arraigned in court to answer to allegation of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, assault occasioning which are contrary to the Laws of Sierra Leone.
It is alleged in court one that the accused persons on the 13th June 2020 at 13 Riddle Avenue Baoma Godrich, Freetown assaulted Williamson Taylor and Sylvester Taylor of the same address. In counts two the accused persons were charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm against both complainants.
Under cross examination, Defense Counsel I.Macfoy asked witness if during the investigation all the accused persons told him that they were not at the scene of the incident. Witness said yes. Defense Counsel asked if the witness visited the scene of crime, his response was yes. Defense counsel asked if he obtained statement from the first and second accused persons during the course of investigation. ‘Yes I did’. Defense counsel continued to ask that during the course of investigation the complainant failed to proof to the investigator that he had a video clip of the scene. Witness said yes. Defense counsel said your investigation failed to unearth the photographs that were taken to prove that these accused persons allegedly committed the offences. Witness said yes. Defense counsel continued to say that Williamson Taylor told you that he was in the house when he heard noice.Witness said yes. Defense counsel said to the witness he was the same complainant that said he has a video clip of the said incident and as a very good investigator you did not request for the video to formed part of your investigation. Witness said no he didn’t.
Police Constable 12090 Bangura Z.Y. and C.I.Williams are prosecuting for the State while I.Macfoy represented all the accused persons. Matter has been adjourned to the 18th May, 2021.
