In a disturbing turn of events, the Koidu New Sembehun City Council was mandated to bury an unidentified corpse discovered in a swamp at Koeyor community, Koidu City, Kono District. The body, already in a decomposed state, was delivered to the Koidu Government Hospital mortuary by officers from the Tankoro Police Divisional Headquarters on Thursday, April 25, 2024.
According to attendants at the hospital mortuary, this marks the third instance of an unidentified corpse being found in Koeyor community, prompting speculation and concerns among residents. Police sources revealed that the deceased, a male, was retrieved from the swamp and brought to the mortuary.
