In a heart-wrenching event that unfolded on Sunday, April 21st, 2024, the community of Geoma 1 in Bo City was rocked by tragedy as 13-year-old Ahmed Felewa succumbed to the treacherous currents of a swamp river. Eyewitnesses recounted the harrowing scene as Ahmed fought valiantly against the relentless force of the murky waters, his desperate pleas for assistance drowned out by the ferocious rush of the river.
Despite the swift response of Officer Commanding ASP Michael Lissa and his dedicated team from the Operation Support Division (OSD), who promptly mobilized a search and rescue mission, Ahmed’s courageous struggle proved futile. Despite their tireless efforts, his lifeless body was eventually recovered from the unforgiving depths of the river, serving as a poignant reminder of the perils that lie beneath its seemingly tranquil surface.
The tragic loss of Ahmed Felewa has cast a pall of sorrow over the entire community, with condolences pouring in from all quarters for his grieving family and friends.
