In a landmark event heralding a pivotal stride towards progress and prosperity, the Kambia District Council, in conjunction with the Ministry of Local Government and Community Affairs, unveiled a transformative €2.5 million European Union project on April 17, 2024. Among the notable accomplishments of this initiative are the establishment of a Transit facility at the Gbalamuya border town, construction of stores in strategic locations including Madina, Bamoi Luma, and Kambia 2 lorry park, development of sea transportation vessels, augmentation of office space, erection of a pivotal bridge connecting Gbonkomaria and Kathekera, and facilitation of mobility solutions for administrative operations, among other endeavors.
