During his recent six-day state visit to China, President Bio expressed his anticipation of seeing the bond between the two nations serve as a shining example for the rest of Africa.
President Bio highlighted China’s commitment to its promises and its rapid development as key factors that impressed him during his visit. He praised China’s orderliness, discipline, and respect for time, emphasizing that these qualities are crucial for societal progress.
Reflecting on his summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping, President Bio lauded President Xi as a focused and consistent leader who is dedicated to the well-being of his people. He noted President Xi’s vision for China and the remarkable progress the country has achieved under his leadership. President Bio expressed his admiration for China’s ability to swiftly address the needs of its vast population and its emphasis on infrastructure development, particularly in roads and bridges.
President Bio underscored the numerous benefits Sierra Leone has received from its partnership with China, particularly during challenging times such as the COVID-19 pandemic. He emphasized China’s reliability and dependability as a partner, stating that China always delivers on its promises to Sierra Leone.
Furthermore, President Bio rejected the notion of a predatory relationship between China and Africa, asserting that China’s global initiatives under President Xi’s leadership will promote peace and development worldwide.
