Superintendent Abdulai D. Bangura, the Regional Coordinator South of the Complaints Discipline and Internal Investigation Department (CDIID), orchestrated a crucial assembly on Sunday, March 10th, 2024. The gathering aimed to unveil strategies devised by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mr. William Fayia Sellu to fortify the CDIID’s operational prowess.
In the session, Superintendent Bangura underscored the significance of upholding rules and professional standards within the Police force. He shed light on the CDIID’s pivotal role in maintaining discipline and exemplifying ethical conduct.
IGP Sellu, expressing gratitude for the South’s support during his tenure, plans to surprise the CDIID unit with a special acknowledgment or reward, a move anticipated to elevate morale and dedication within the Southern division.
Inspector Gbessay K. Kamara, the admin officer CDIID at the Regional Headquarters South, detailed forthcoming disciplinary operations targeting misconduct. These initiatives aim to ensure accountability among officers, a critical step in preserving professionalism and the rule of law within the Police force.
Discussion points encompassed various areas such as improper dressing by traffic Police officers, diary handling, use of name tags, management of detention facilities, and handling of case and enquiry files. Emphasis was placed on the disciplinary consequences for officers found violating ethical standards, including the withholding of rice supply and salaries, in line with the Inspector General of Police’s endorsement.
The meeting concluded on a note of unity and commitment among CDIID personnel, poised to uphold discipline and integrity within the Police force.
