Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Court No.2 issued a bench warrant on Monday, March 11, 2024, for the second accused, Ibrahim Bah, a staff member of Sierratel who worked as a driver stationed at Mile 91 and Taiama site.
During the proceedings, the first accused, Daniel Moseray, was present. Both accused individuals had been granted bail at the last adjourned date, set at one hundred thousand Leones each, along with 2 sureties in like sum. However, since then, the second accused, Ibrahim Bah, has absconded.
The charges against both accused, Daniel Moseray and Ibrahim Bah, pertain to two counts of Larceny by Servant Contrary to Section 17 (1) (a) of the Larceny Act 1916.
According to the charge sheet, on count 1, Daniel Moseray, on November 7, 2023, at Sierra Leone Telecommunication site at Mile 91, Northern Province, being an employee of Sierra Leone Telecommunication Company Network (Sierratel), allegedly stole certain properties belonging to Sierratel. These items include a radio unit, Huawei equipment, microwave, and one radio rack containing other items worth millions of Leones, all property of Sierratel.
Count 2 alleges that the second accused, Ibrahim Bah, also stole the same items from the company, worth millions of Leones. However, Ibrahim Bah is currently evading authorities.
The matter has been adjourned to March 23, 2024. DSP Sorie Conteh is prosecuting the case.
