In a resounding victory for the Kamara ruling house, Lamin Soko Kamara, affectionately known as LSK, has been declared the winner of the Rokupr Section Chieftaincy elections. The landslide victory marks a significant turning point for the section, with Chief-elect LSK outlining ambitious plans for the development and preservation of traditional values.

Immediately following the announcement of his win, Chief Lamin Soko Kamara wasted no time in detailing his vision for the section’s future. Promising to uphold and preserve traditional culture and sacred norms, Chief LSK revealed a comprehensive roadmap aimed at advancing the socio-economic well-being of the community.

Central to his plans is the establishment of a robust administrative structure, including the appointment of principal assistants to ensure the smooth operation of the chieftaincy. Additionally, Chief LSK pledged to create an Elders’ Council to provide invaluable guidance and support in governance matters.

Furthermore, Chief LSK emphasized the importance of inclusivity by proposing the formation of a Section Development Council representing various interest groups. Technical committees will also be set up to drive development initiatives effectively.

Addressing key issues such as agriculture and infrastructure, Chief LSK announced the formation of a development advocacy network to assess the state of the Sierra Leone Agricultural Research Institute (SLARI) and engage with the government for the benefit of the Rokupr community.

In his bid to foster economic growth, Chief LSK outlined plans to organize women and other interest groups into cooperatives and financial organizations to access funding opportunities. Additionally, he promised to prioritize community public works projects and collaborate closely with local government authorities.

In his commitment to youth empowerment and combating substance abuse, Chief LSK vowed to promote youth participation in governance while intensifying efforts to eradicate drug trafficking and usage within the community.

Furthermore, Chief LSK underscored the importance of collaboration in promoting human capital development, health, and agriculture. He pledged to establish a Section Inter-Religious Council to oversee religious affairs and revitalize Rokupr as a commercial hub and sea transportation link.

With these ambitious plans, Chief Lamin Soko Kamara aims to propel Rokupr Section towards a brighter and more prosperous future, forging strong partnerships both locally and nationally to achieve sustainable development and good governance.
