20 years old Chernor Kabia made his first appearance before Magistrate Peter Gogra of Pademba road court in Freetown on one count charge to wit fraudulent conversion contrary to section 20 (i)(iv)(a) of the Larceny Act 1916.
According to the charge sheet on the 20th April 2021 at Madina, Charlotte, in Freetown fraudulently converted to your own use or benefit certain property that is to say two pick axes valued on hundred and fifty thousand Leones(150,000) two head pans valued one hundred and ten thousand Leones (110,000) three Hammer valued seven hundred and fifty thousand Leones (750,000) and one metal axe valued forty thousand Leones (40,000) all to the total sum of one million and fifty thousand Leones (Le 1050,000) entrusted to the accused by Mohamed Victor Vandi for the purpose of safe keeping.
The charge sheet was read to the accused person and he pleaded not guilty.
The prosecution told the Magistrate that the complainant has something to explain to the court upon the explanation the magistrate discharge the matter on the grounds of the prosecution.
