In a momentous event at the ECOWAS Female Parliamentarians Association summit (ECOFEPA), Her Excellency Dr. Fatima Maada Bio, the First Lady of Sierra Leone, was recognized for her exceptional leadership and dedication to empowering women and girls in Africa. To start, the West Africa Youth Assembly bestowed upon her the prestigious trailblazer award during the summit’s opening session on Friday, February 9th, 2024, held at the Freetown International Conference Center.
