19 years old Aminata Kanu made his first appearance before Magistrate Peter Brima Gogra of Pademba road court No.6 in Freetown on a count of Obtaining money by false pretenses contrary to section 32 (1) of the Larceny Act of 1916.
According to the particulars of offence on a date unknown between the 26th October 2022 and the 31st May 2023 at Cockerill off Wilkinson Road the western area in Freetown with intent to defraud obtained the sum of eighty thousand seven hundred Leones (80,700) from Zainab Kawa by falsely pretending that you will facilitate her sister’s Mamie Kawa travelling to overseas knowing same to be false.
When the charge was read and explained to the accused person, she pleaded not guilty.
Meanwhile, Magistrate Gogra refused bail and sent the accused person to the female correctional facility in Freetown matter adjourned to the 27th December 2023 for further hearing, while Inspector Musu Edna Kpulun prosecuting the matter.
