The Deputy Director of the Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education (MBSSE) in Kono District has said that the Global Education Academy situated at Tamba Lamin Street Bungalow section in Koidu City Kono District is the road map to acquire quality education.
Prince Ngebeh made the statement when justifying his pervious statement that the proliferation of schools in Kono District has served as a serious challenge to the actualization of the clarion call of president Bio’s free quality school education initiative in the country. According to him ,Global Education Academy although it is a newly established private school but it is well structured with the ideal standards of acquiring quality education, unlike a host of other unapproved schools in the District that are hell-bent in undermining the tireless efforts of the free quality school education initiative of president Julius Maada Bio .
Ngebeh maintained that with such ideal standards at the Global Education Academy it is very difficult for pupils to underperform. He disclosed plans by his ministry to fully implement the 2023 Education Act which strictly frowns at the running or establishment of unapproved schools because its detrimental to the human capital development of the country and generations yet unborn.
Sylvanus B Koroma is the Manager Global Education Academy, he added that the school started in 2022 but prior to that it started as a syndicate but because of the excellent academic performance of the children that attended the said syndicate there was a felt need for it to be transformed into a fully registered and approved junior and senior secondary schools.
Koroma intimated this medium that the classroom management of the school is less than the prescribed government number that is thirty and thirty-five pupils at most per class with a very spacious and ideal teaching and learning environment.
Speaking about the facilities of the school, Sylvanus B.Koroma said the school is one of its kind in Kono District that even competes with other private schools in Freetown with the following facilities: Computer lab wherein every pupil has access to a computer at a giving time, spacious classroom management, staffroom with storage facility and tea break for teachers every morning, canteen, perimeter fence with a security post and a library.
He reinstated that the school is well approved by the Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education with at least twenty trained and qualified teachers, noting the objective of the school is for its pupils to match up with the present Global technological trend and to address the communication barriers among learners and as a result the liqueur franqueur of the pupils is either English or French. He commended parents and guardians whose children or ward are attending the Global Education Academy for being supportive to the academic pursuit of their children and urged them to do more because with the school the sky is the limit of the pupils interns of quality education and academic excellence.
Concluding the manager of Global Education Academy thanked the proprietor of the school Mohamed Lamin Turay for such a fantastic initiative and on behalf of his colleagues registered their unflinching support in the running of the school.
He said plans afoot by the school management with the help of the proprietor to embark on trips to government and private installations in order to expose the pupils.
“Very soon there will be additional structures to accommodate the growing number of pupils in the school” Koroma affirms.
