The West Africa Women Association (WAWA), Sierra Leone Chapter has boosted women farmers group in Kailahun with quantities of Vegetable seeds for cultivation.

On the 24th and 27th of November, 2023 respectively, varieties of vegetable seeds supplied which include cucumber, carrot, pepper, okra, rice, watermelon and cabbage was made to farmer partners group of WAWA based in Kailahun district, eastern region of Sierra Leone.

Five villages and towns that benefited from the supply of vegetable seeds from WAWA are Sandaru, Koryamah, Gbanyawalo, Sandayalo and Njaa.

The team lead for the distribution of the vegetables seed is Paul Solomon Koroma from WAWA, and who on behalf of the President Madam Mame Bintou Ndao extended conveyed her greetings to the beneficiaries.

According to WAWA team leader Mr. Paul Solomon Koroma the seeds distribution to the farmers is in honor of WAWA President Mame Bintou Ndao promised during her prior visit to the district.

He emphasized Madam Bintou commitment and support to agricultural activities, and more particularly for women farmers.

One of the beneficiaries, Hawa expressed happiness, and on behalf of others extended thanks and appreciation to WAWA President Mame Bintou Ndao for supporting them, farmers with seeds for farming.

This, she said is not only a benefit to them but to their children, the district and the country at large.

Madam Hawa encouraged President Bintou Ndao to do more and continue to boost women farmers at all levels.

WAWA is an International Non-Governmental Organisation (INGO) working in all members countries of the Economic Community of West Africa State (ECOWAS) in the interest of promoting women, girls and the youth through agriculture, education, and others trades that are of great values and benefit to human capital development.
