Twenty-three years old Momoh Kamara a tricycle rider made another appearance before Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Pademba road court No.3 in Freetown on five Count charges to wit Conspiracy, Trespass and three Count charges ranging from Larceny.
According to the particulars of offence on Sunday 3rd September 2023 at Off Kingharman Road the western area in Freetown conspired with other persons unknown to commit a crime.
On count two at the above date and place the accused person unlawfully entered the compound of Patrick Koroma having being warned not to do so on count three on the above date and place the accused person did steal three thousand Leones(3,000) four jeans trousers, two pair of creaps all to the total sum of four thousand nine hundred Leones(4,900) Property of Amara Sesay on count four the accused person on the above date and place did steal two pair of creaps, four Jeans trousers, six polo’s and the physical sum of two thousand five hundred Leones(2,500) all to the total sum of four thousand one hundred and twenty Leones(4,120) Property of Amara Kamara on count five the accused person on the above date and place did steal twenty shovels, ten wheel barrows, thirty bags of cement, one torn of five eight length iron rods, twenty emptied head pans, five cartoons assorted nails and other items all to the total sum of eighty seven thousand eight hundred Leones(87,800) property of Patrick Koroma
On the first appearance of the accused person the charges was read and explained to the accused person he pleaded not guilty.
Chief Superintendent of police Juan M S Bull lead Prosecution witness number three Inspector Brima Amara Munu attached to the Criminal Investigation Department Central Police Station said he recognized the accused person in the dock.
He recalled on the 4th September 2023 whilst on duty at the said station Peter Buleh and Amara Sesay made report of conspiracy and other offence against the accused person.
The witness said he obtained statements from the witnesses and he witnessed the scene of crime at off Kingharman Road Freetown.
The witness said the compound was fenced all over and pan body structure was inside the said place one room was used as stored whilst the other one was used as dwelling house the witness said he use his tablet and took photographs of the crime scene together with Sergeant 9425 Conteh A on the 7th September 2023.
The accused person was arrested on warrant on the same date himself together with DPC 15041 Koneh M contemporaneously interviewed the accused person in the dock.
The statement was made in krio language which was recorded down in English language at the conclusion of the statement it was read over and explained to the accused person which he admitted to be true and correct by afflicting his right hand thumbprint.
The said statement was produced and tendered in court to form part of the court records on the 10th September 2023 himself together with 15041 Konneh M final charged the accused person with the offence of conspiracy, Trespass and Larceny.
The accused person was cautioned and questioned in krio language which was recorded in English language the charge statement was produced and tendered in court to form part of the court records.
The accused person was unrepresented by legal representative and he didn’t cross examined the witness.
Meanwhile Magistrate Bangura refused bail and sent the accused person to the male facility in Freetown.
The matter was adjourned to the 29th November 2023.
