A care taker, Alimamy Kamara was in court as the fifth prosecution witness to testify in a matter involving Alpha Mansaray and Ibrahim Bockarie (accused persons) in an alleged case of Burglary and Larceny. Both accused persons appeared before Magistrate Marke Ngegba in Freetown magistrate court on the 19th April, 2021.
A Care Taker, Alimamy Kamara (of Mr. Abdul Fatar Bakarr is the complainant of Burglary and Larceny) was in court as Prosecution Witness (PW5) to testify in matter where Alpha Mansaray and Ibrahim Bockarie (accused persons).. The accused persons are alleged of felony contrary to the Laws of Sierra Leone.
Testifying in court, PW 5 said he knew both accused persons. The witness said he was asleep on that fateful day when thieves entered their premises. He said the thieves grabbed, beat him-up, and tied him after their mission. But before the thieves could leave, the witness said to them “I know you all, and the best you should do is to lose me so that I will not prosecute you”. After making this statement to them, they freed him. PW 5 said he saw them carted away with many properties.
According to the case file, the accused persons on 23rd January, 2021 at 1Jawlay Drive Mambo Village Freetown in the Western Rural district conspired together with other persons unknown to commit felony to wit Burglary and Larceny. The accused persons entered the dwelling house of Mr. Abdul Fatar Bakarr (complainant) with intent to steal Plasma TV value thirty million Leones (Le 30,000,000/00), 2 pair Reebock sneakers vales eight million Leones (Le 8,000,000/00), 4 pair Guw neal value twelve million Leones (Le 12,000,000/00), Assorted sneakers value sixteen million Leones (Le 16,000,000/00), 1 Prada sneaker value five million Leones (Le 5,000,000/00), 2 Versace shirt polo value fifteen million Leones (Le 15,000,000/00), 20 T-Shirt value forty million Leones (Le 40,000,000/00), 5 perfume value nine hundred thousand Leone (Le 900,000/00), 1 savage perfume value one million Leones (1,000,000/00), 1 jay pee perfume value six hundred thousand Leones (Le 6,000,000/00), 1 boss speaker Bluetooth value eight million Leones (Le 8,000,000/00), 1 boss head set value eight million Leones (Le 8,000,000/00), etc. and a physical cash of nine million Leones (Le 9,000,000/00) at to the total sum of two hundred and fifty million, seven hundred thousand Leones (Le 240,700,000/00), properties of Mr. Abdul Fatar Bakarr, the complainant.
During cross examination, the witness confirmed that he knew the accused persons as he has taken many years within the community. ASP Bah is prosecuting for the State, while the Lawyer for the accused persons was absent. The matter has been adjourned to the 26th April, 2021 and the accused person were remanded at the Pademba Road correctional center.
