Justice Adrian Fisher has lifted the injunction earlier on placed on Sierra Leone Premier League 2023. In his words, parties involved should put the country first above all else.
In his ruling, the judge has directed the Sierra leone FootBall Association (SLFA )to investigate the significant concerns raised by Kamboi Eagles Fan Club thoroughly. He further emphasised that issues relating to justice and fairness must be meticulously examined, unbiased, and independent.
He gave an order to the Sierra Leone Football Association to seat with Kamboi Eagles Executive Fan Club in the weekend to look into their concerns and find a common ground for the smooth running of Football in the Country, noting that if the concerns of Kamboi Eagles have been look into there is no need for them to take the matter to court, but because the Football Federation failed to look into their concerns that is why they seek court readdress for them to get justice.
After lifting the Court injunction Kamboi Eagles Executive Fan Club has this to say
“We as members of the Kamboi Eagles Fan Club have achieved some of the resolutions we have been actively pursuing. We are therefore grateful to the judiciary sector for ensuring that our concern is given the appropriate attention.”
Speaking on behalf of the Premier League Board Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai Esq, said the Injunction should be lifted because more than one thousand players depends on playing Football to get their livelihood, nothing that the World Governing Body FIFA don’t want to see Football matters are taking to court, but rather the respective bodies within Football to avoid third parties interference.
However, the case was adjourned to Monday 13th November,2023.
Justice Adrian Fisher, is hoping after the deliberation between the two parties there is definitely a common ground between the two parties and by Monday the matter is going to resolved.
